Whether you own a MacBook or a desktop Mac, Apple's line of computers are the most expensive hardware you can buy from the tech giant. And if you have a habit of losing your phone, that's yet another reason to purchase an AppleCare+ plan for your device. There's an uncomfortably high chance that you could damage the phone by dropping it in the toilet, running it over, or dropping it on concrete. You probably want to keep your iPhone for at least two years. But be careful: You must have the Find My app switched on at the time of loss, and replacements are subject to a $149 service fee.

The nice thing about the iPhone's extended warranty is you can upgrade to a higher tier that includes theft and loss-which Apple doesn't include for most other hardware. This covers the phone, battery, included earphones, and accessories that come in the box.

You'll also get two incidents of accidental damage coverage, subject to a service fee: $29 plus tax for a broken screen and $99 plus tax for other damages. AppleCare+ extends this to 24 months after your purchase date and includes Express Replacement Service, which means Apple will send you a replacement iPhone before you send your own device in for repairs. In each case, the device comes with a one-year limited warranty, including hardware repair coverage, plus 90 days of technical support. What do I get? Depending on the model of iPhone, there are different AppleCare+ for iPhone offerings. Even with the best drop-proof case, you still might see a hairline fracture here and there. But, I wouldn't have minded.Since you use your iPhone the most out of your Apple products, it's the most vulnerable to damage. I purchased mine for my son whilst in the store one year, then gave it to him for Christmas.

If not, they'd have loads who did not take care of the device or had an accident and only want to purchase the coverage after the fact, naturally The coverage is exceptional, so they simply need to verify that it is in good health when they offer it to you This makes sense, as billions of devices are sent out and purchased without coverage right away and there is no one to physically see what that device may or may not have incurred. Applecare+ allots 30 days after purchase to have this ran and added on.

Basically, any device that leaves the store w/out immediate purchase of Applecare+ then or is received via an online purchase, must have a basic diagnostic ran on it which can be done remotely. I think it wasn't communicated properly, possibly. Is there a realistic way a company, especially one like Apple, can make a policy which would take into account things like buying for birthdays or Christmas? Perhaps I am too sensitive to this issue and a service representative telling it like it should be.

I am beginning to ask my friends what they think and I thought I should ask here. But I was shocked by the service representative affirming I needed to return the watch if I didn’t want the recipient of this nice gift to only have a 23 month instead of 24 month warranty. In practice, I have never had an issue of Apple Care not being honored because the Apple Product was bought weeks before the date the recipient started using the device. Therefore she affirmed that I should return the gift and wait until Christmas Day.

In talking with an Apple Care agent about this purchase I was told the only way to have the full two year warranty for an Apple Watch as a Christmas gift was to buy it the day I was going to give it. When I give electronics, I like to buy Apple Care to have a full two or three year warranty. The well advertised Thanksgivings sales by Apple and others encourage this. I bought my oldest an Apple Watch for Christmas.
